Why is the brake light and abs light on my 2001 ford windstar

either the fuse for your abs has blown. your abs has failed or you have low brake fluid. if you want to test your abs find an empty bit if road, a slidy one if you can, and slam on the brakes from a high speed. if the brake pedal shudders, some would call it violent, then your abs is working and you must have low brake fluid level. if the lights remain on then take it to a garage

Do you mean the brakelight warning light? On some cars, the third brake light bulb burning out can cause the abs warning light to go on.

probably a bad fuse, if not that then it should be a bad wire somewhere

usually low brake fluid but brake issues will also do this.... if not low brake fluid, recommend a mechanic to look for a leak
