Why is the cell phone culture adopting this habit?

I have a cell phone because the boss expects it and pays for it. I see and observe the cell phone culture and their habits (clutching their phones in their hands) etc. one of the new habits I've noticed is people calling because they see there was a missed call and no message in voice mail. I could see if they are plumbers or something and might miss a customer. What I don't understand is why the CPC (cell phone culture) return calls to someone they don't know and there is no VM. At one time your home phone could ring your answer machine picks up and the person realizes they dialed wrong and hang up. Would the CPC'er then *69 every hang up? -no - of course not.

Yet they will and od return calls just because it shows on their missed call list. ridiculous

  2. haha I feel the same way!

  3. often those calls are from friends that you have lost contact with that have gotten the number from a mutual friend, or calls from family ..I personally almost never leave a message..I dont know hwy I just dont

  4. Because they may be curious as to who called and why... I'm currently adopting this habit because I am job searching. So I more likely than not, I do not know the numbers of all my potential employees.
