everybody can see and feel the climate changes and why are they occuring so much quicker then scientists expected? like really, its only april and here in new jersey its already in the 80's and all the trees almost are bloomed. usually at about this time its in the high 50's low 60s without green grass to cut, and trees with leaves on them. should we start to worry?

  1. Considering that we are in a cooling trend, I would not say faster than expected.

Global Temperature Report - March 2008

By The University of Alabama in Huntsville

The La Nina cooling of the tropical atmosphere continued in March, with temperatures in the tropics falling to their coldest seasonally-adjusted temperature (-0.49 C below the 20-year average for March) since the La Nina of March 1989, according to Dr. John Christy, a professor of atmospheric science and director of the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Tropical temperatures in March 1989 dropped -0.72 C (1.3 degrees Fahrenheit) below seasonal norms.

  2. The IPCC report did not take into account the effects of "positive feedback loops" adding even more "greenhouse gases" into the atmosphere.  It's all about science, not any kind of 'belief' or scam!   The weather is powered by heat, and the rotation of the Earth.  As heat rises from the Equator, moving towards the poles, winds develop at high altitudes. They're called "jet streams".  Any increase in heat, adds to the power of the jet stream. That makes it unstable as it circles the Earth.  That instability causes more intense weather! The ever widening parameters of weather records, are a direct result of global warming!

Right now in the Seattle area we're having a SNOWSTORM!

  3. There are many different stances to climate change

There is the ostrich stance:- those people who stick their heads in the sand and think it will all go away.

There is the selfish stance:- climate change is only going to be negative to my buy everything / throw away life style, so I will try and look for every piece of evidence that disproves it.

There is the scientific stance:- scientists can never agree but the vast majority worked with the IPCC / United Nations to clearly show we humans are heading for trouble.

There is cynical stance:- armchair experts who question anything and everything they disagree with.

There is the political stance:- here comes your answer.... the IPCC report was watered down because politicians did not have the back bone to tell us the real truth about the speed of climate change.

There is my stance:- learn as much as I can, do as much as I can and try and leave something on the planet for those that will follow on from me... like my grandchildren

  4. Read the book "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism" by Chris Horner.  We are going through climate change not man made global warming.  This has been happening for billions of years.  The only thing there is to do is adapt, it's called Darwinism.

If you are worried about the price of cooling your home get on to your state government about other forms of energy.  Windmills, nuclear, hydro power.  I am sure there is someway NJ can you the sea to produce electricity.

  5. Global warming is over.  Russian scientist who have taken the lead on climate research now say that the Earth is entering into a cooling phase as the number of Sunspots are decreasing.

The changes you are seeing are probably because of your age.  You need to study more history to discover things aren't any different today than they were in other periods of time.
