  1. The libero's substitutions don't count towards the teams limit of substitution. They are free to be substituted as many times as needed.

  2. They are the passing specialist. Their one and only job is to get a good pass up to the setter. But when they are receiving the ball they are on defence defending their side of the court. THen once they have done their job their team can continue on offense for the win! Hence the "defensive specialist"

  3. Definition: A defensive player who wears a different color jersey and is restricted from hand setting the ball in front of the attack line, serving the ball, and attacking the ball.

  4. The main reason behind this definition related to the libero of soccer, cause he always plays in the back court, wears different uniform and not allowed to play in front court, in addition to his outstanding reception and court defense skills

  5. a libero is a defensive specialist.  I believe libero was from Latin.  But not too sure.  Basicly a libero can't hit or set before the 10 foot line.  Recent rule changes allow them to start serving.

  6. im not sure why they are called that but they are a defensive player who can sub in without calling a sub and without counting them as a sub, they cannot serve, set, or spike the ball above the 10 ft. line. they where a different jersey as well. they are selected by their skill in passing, digging and recieving. good defensive players that pick up hard spikes or serves.
