ive now failed it 12 times in the last 2 years and its cost me a fortune

ime now thinking about giving up completely, and just getting a car anyway.

i dont mind failing my driving test, its when they fail people on stupid things, like not checking their blind spot(which i did 20 times) he just didnt see me, and stalling the engine etc stupid little things like that.

i know i am a good driver,

so why do they keep failing me?

when i see other qualified drivers in the street driving like idiots.

  1. Perseverance is the only forward I'm afraid!

I do think some of the minor faults are a little OTT, which could explain why some people fail continuously, as opposed to being bad drivers.

At the other end of the spectrum, a failure should be seen as a way to learn from your previous mistakes, so try to focus on all the things you failed on previously.  You're bound to get there in the end.

Oh, and definitely don't start driving a car without a license - you're risking not only your life, but other people's too.

  2. I'm sure the examiner is not just picking on you.  You must be doing something to fail the test.  Is it possible you're just a little too sure of yourself?  Maybe you should enroll in a driving school and re-learn the rules of the road.  Throw out all you think you know and pretend you have to start from scratch.  Pay attention in driving school, and I'm betting you'll pass the test next time.  Good luck!

  3. I'm curious as to what score you got on your written.  I passed mine with a 98 got my license the first time out. (I had been driving tractors on the farm since age 9). Stalling the engine is not a stupid little thing, it is a big thing.  Sounds like you are driving a stick, try an automatic, see how you do on practice. You need to practice with a qualified driver or instructor until you both feel confident that you can do it right.

  4. Sorry to have to tell you that the driving test is not that hard to pass, you only fail if you make a good number of driving faults or one or more serious faults.  I am a retired examiner and believe me I was only too willing to pass people but they seemed determined to fail by their bad driving.  Make sure your instructor is up to the job and that you enjoy driving with him/her.  Stop worrying about the test, don't forget the examiner wants you to pass as it is far less paperwork .

    Best of luck next time.

  5. Hi!! The reason it is so hard is that on the roads to day it is almost suicidal at times. when i was going to take my test i hired a driving instructor for three sessions not to give lessons BUT to teach me how to pass my test.Somethings he said:> Why did you move to the left?

The car in front is going to turn right: He has not signalled yet,

You have looked in your mirror every 100 yards, but the examiner would not have known, You must move your head a little.

You used to drive a motor bike. Yes i still do. You anticipate and use

your gearbox without touching or covering your brake. Watch that on your test. You can see my friend how the mind of  the examiners work, so be prepared next time. Good luck in your new business.

    ..

  6. it's because you aren't a good driver...yet... the examiner IS the person that watches your driving.

just be comfortable and make sure you aren't too self-conscious of your driving. make sure your examiner is having a good time. talk about the day or something. takes their mind off the test. and when they are done they'll just be like "ohh that was good! here is your license!"
