Why is the fasfa4caster asking for our 2006 tax info?

I am looking into the 2008-2009 school year so why is it asking for old information?

Because the government is very stupid and have no clue what they are doing. They probably spent over a million dollars on that website and it is doing no good.

Just pretend that is says 2007 and go through the process. Though some of the numbers of the lines on the tax form are probably different. Or everyone who reads this can call 800-433-3242 at 10am eastern time tomorrow to complain and overload the system.
