Why is the final table of the WSOP main event being played in November?

  1. I think they also made WSOP games earlier this year so it wouldn't conflict with the Olympics.  Kinda lame, if you ask me.  I think the only advantage of having it in November is that the prize money will gather interest.


  2. This is all about ESPN and since they spread out the WSOP series of shows over several months they want to reduce the lag time between the final table and it's airing.  Money talks and their money talked.

  3. I think the concept is that last year everyone knew who the winner was months before it got shown on TV.

    So I think they are trying to make it more exciting.

    I think it's a bad idea.  After all, if you are on a rush and then have to wait three months, or if you die...  Not good.

Yes, they wanr to do an extended profile on all the finalist, i guess they figured that people watching the WSOP were very interested in what kind of people and their backgrounds made it to the finals. Human interest stories always a big sell when mega bucks are involved and how it can change peoples lives. Sounds kinda wishy washy, but its true, also makes for more episodes and more drama to keep viewers coming back for more.
