Why is the front end on both the buick regal estate wagon and the cutlass cruiser differ from the coupe models

the buick regal estate wagon and the buick regal differ as does the cutlass cruiser and the cutlass. (btw i'm refering to model year g-bodys 81-87/88). its the same car why do they differ. I guess the real reason i ask is if it is possible to dress up one of these wagons to look more like there coupe counterparts for style and better looking grand national, olds/hurst stationwagon clones.

  1. The idea was to wind up with coupes that looked sportier than the sedans and wagons. Changing the front end ought to be a relatively simple process, and yield you a cool-looking wagon.
