  1.   Because they have the power, and power controlls everything.


  2. To keep the general population safe and to not cause mass hysteria. If the government knew about a possible terrorism attack and let everyone know their plan  then they would also be letting the enemy know the plan.

  3. Same reason they can steal our money. They own us. We allowed them to become so powerful they can do whatever they want.

  5. Because if they let everybody know, then they wouldn't be secrets!

  6. They're the government.  They're in complete control, and there's no one in higher power to question whether or not they're morally right in what they do.  So they have every opportunity to keep countless things from their own citizens.

    It's unfortunate, but it's true.
