Why is the government hiding the area 51 secrets from us?

Im getting tired of government hiding the secrets from us if we take a step there we would get shot down in a heart beat what is it thats so important that they will kill people if they try to get inside that base.

Because if people new these secrets the world would go into chaos.  They are protecting us from the unknown secrets that could possibly destroy us...

they are hiding the fact that we never landed on the moon.

duh  the same reason they hide everything else from us do you think Area51 is thier most secret base HA!  you know of Area51 just imagine everything you dont know

Area 51 is mostly or on the outside a secret government testing facility.  The test new planes and military equipment.  But in reality they are hiding things there that would send us all into a panic.  We have lived long with "thinking" we aren't alone but if we actually know what is going on or lives would change beyond our imagination.  So to some maybe Area 51 is trying to hide a horrible secret to protect us or maybe to just keep us in the dark.  There are other things there too.  Hangar 51 was the storage place for government documents and secret things that were hidden form the public back in the 40s and 50s and 60s during the WW2 and Cold War era.  It isn't known if there is still a Hangar 51 but they still store those secret documents someplace...and the best place...?  The middle of a desert were there is no humidity and it is always dry.
