Chlorophyll...greenish in color....allows the plants to take in Co2 (food) and change it to sugars ! All plant leaves and grasses are usually green ! The movement of sugars is done by a process called plasmoloysis...which is the movement of a higher concentration of liquid through a semi-permeable membrane to a lower concentration of liquid !

You can see this also when you water a plant....when it's wilted....it moves the water about and becomes "un-wilted"...this is called "turgor" ! *S*
