don't you think its time for us to accept that tendulkar ,dravid and ganguly are getting old and a burden on the team .there is a huge difference in the performance and the aura of the test and one day team ,time also for kumble to step down from captaincy and give way to ms dhoni..

  1. well main reason behind the poor performances is due to the some sort of decline in form of our captain Kumble .if u can remember before he became captain almost in every series which india had won Anil played a significant role .series win in Pakistan he took 18 wicket a miser average , or the series which we drew with aussie 03-04 he took like astonishing 24 wickets .or even in the home series he was the chief architect of the destruction .but since he has become captain somehow the added responsibility had kinda had its affects on him which kinda shows with his bowling .last series he hardly took any wickets if you compare with his class and accuracy he kinda lost it .yeah even though harbhajan got few wickets but he was not so potent as kumble is when he is on song hardly gives anything away with h**l lot of wickets under his bag whick kinda almost breaks the back bone cause most of time because of his accuracy and wicket taking ability it reduces rivals to such a low total that they hardly can recover .or when its 2nd inning he gives then terrible time .just look at his 2nd inning bowling average it wud be half that of 1st inning .even though india seems to be winning outside subcontinent cause of the young brigade of fast bowler which they now posses with swing ,accuracy with bit of help from the conditions they manage to get lot of wickets .which somehow doesn't happen when they play on subcontinent wickets .last series was the gr8 example of it . some how mendis and murli got thru Indian batting order .sometimes it can be little hard to understand such a formidable line up collapse so easily .but on the other hand tendulkar had come from injury which didn't help any bit ,others dravid, ganguly ,laxman did try their best but somehow most of em even after getting start they threw away their wickets cause both sourav and laxman got many good starts but failed to capitalized .many of times mendis was too good for them .anyways we shouldn't forget the fact that these were the guys who performed brilliantly outside subcontinent to bring glory many of time

1 winning series in W.I for 1st time after almost whitewash 4-1 in favor of home team in ODI`S

winning the 1st test match in south africa after a complete whitewash

again competing hard against Aussie in last series down under

winning after more then 2 decade a series in england

accomplishment they achieved are lot with same player in last few years which was never done before may be its time to put in few young blood to prepare em for future i don't mean pour all of em just a good team of experience and youth although much emphasis should be on experience cause they r the one from whom youngster are gonna learn .hopefully will work out

  2. to many old players

  3. what a great Q buddy,

westcal did his job and i did mine!

India is doing good , they have won a test match at SL soil with review system against them, they almost won it in Australia barring Steve Bucknor!

In October, they will not get out twice in 5 days, they are a d**n tough team to compete at foreign soil and now the challenge will be at home soil where ball comes on the good height to play strokes!

    hope this helps!

    best regards!

  4. didnt this same "OLD" team challenged australia like no other team in australia since 2004, when india again drawed against them in australia.

didnt this same indian test team win a test series in england a year ago, after 27 years.

Didnt this same team win against pakistan in india about 9 months ago, for over 30 years.

Didnt this same team win against the west indies in west indies since 20 years ago.

Yes india lost the test series in Sri Lanka, but they didnt get thrashed. They won 1 match, which is quite rare in the past decade to win a test match in sri lanka for opposing sides. Plus lets face it, the review systym was tottally against india.

Moreover it was down to the sachin tendulkar show in the cb series, of why india won the finals.

You cant expect india to win all the time.

Moreover the youngsters aint been that impressive them selves.

Rohit Sharma has been averaging 25 in his 30 odd games.

Kholi averged 32 in the series, raina averaged 35. Badrinath averaged 16.

The reason why india won the odi series was because of the luck of dhoni winning the toss.

By the way Dravid and tendulkar would never get dropped from the test squad, no matter what people say or do. sachin will never also get dropped from the ODI squad aswell.

    So ha ha ha ha

  5. ur right that kumble should step from down from being a captain and give way for ms dhoni...but he should not be thrown out from the game as he is a legend and we cant tell that wen will he bowl superbly(but i know that he cant do at this age)...thts just de case for sachin,,dravid ganguly etc...

  6. They aren't doing poorly. Sri Lanka and Australia are both very tough places to tour. Consider than before the Indian tour Australia had won it's last 15 tests. India managed to take a game off Australia - in Australia! That is pretty impressive. Also anyone calling for Tendulkar to the scrapped is an idiot. He remains one of the greatest batsmen in the sport.

  7. Indian cricket Seniors are now almost done for ,.. new young team will take over soon,.. if not  another test defeat on the way in October~

  8. Well, as others in this thread have said, it's because some of the seniors aren't exactly performing, which is coming to be a burden on the team. Sourav, Dravid, and Kumble may be past their prime because their performances in the Australian tour, as well as the Sri Lankan tour, and the South African home series weren't exactly inspiring. VVS did fairly well, while Sachin had a bad series (he did superbly in the Australian tour).

The team would do well with the injection of an extra paceman instead of Kumble, and Badrinath and Raina in the test team!

  9. Let us wait till the Aussies come home and complete their test match series during Oct,9 to Nov,10.

I would expect Australia to field: MJ Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Philip Jacques, MEK Hussey, Bradley Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Beau Casson and Stuart Clark.

India may field a team consisting of: Sehwag, Gambhir, Laxman, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Pathan, Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan.

India appears to be having slight advantage of 2 to 3 percent in bowling. But in batting, Aussies have an advantage of 100 to 66. In fielding, they have an advantage of 100 to 54. Overall, Aussies have an advantage of 100 to 82.

The pacemen of India are not good enough. Ishant Sharma in his last 8 test matches took 22 wickets for 784 runs. Zaheer Khan in his last 6 test matches took 18 wickets for 730 runs. This is the best that India can provide as other pacemen are worse than Ishant and Zaheer. Compare these two to Brett Lee (9 matches, 58 wickets for 1,250 runs) and Stuart Clark (9 matches, 34 wickets for 902 runs) and we know the difference. The spin of Harbhajan Singh and Kumble (last 12 matches, 102 wickets for 3,684 runs, together) will prove to be a lot better than the spin bowling of Beau Casson (3 wickets in one match for 129 runs). Mitchell Johnson (34 wickets for 1,118 runs in 9 matches) and Michael Clark and Andrew Symonds will also bowl.

Dhoni as a test match wicket keeper is not good enough. In his last 9 test matches, Dhoni had 19 victims besides scoring 399 runs. Compare this performance to Bradley Haddin's 16 victims and 151 runs in the last 3 test matches and we know the difference.

Of course, it is too early to predict what will happen and who will play. May the best team win. May the sport flourish.

  10. Are you fellows mad???

Kumble is going an aite job, and if any one should be captain, it shud be Sehwag.

Rahul can do it if he gets in form. THis is the only series where he hasn't performed and i think the BCCI should at least let him be the # 1 fielder in the world in catches.

Sourav is not doin well, but at least put him on the ODI team, excellent all roundeer.

Sachin has been plagued by injuries, yet will be strong by October.

    Dont be crazy...

  11. u r right its time for senior players to step down and dhoni to take up the captaincy because now a days the players like gangully dravid sachin have lost their will to win the match
