Why is the male gender much stronger emotionally and mentally is it the result of ability and discipline?

Question

Woman gets flustered very quickly and hormones kick in quicker if they can't do something. yes?

Yet they lack the testosterone needed to equal the task...

To compete with men women are finding out that men are mentally stronger by a long, wide margin

To give women a chance the Government has had to make laws to suppress men’s natural abilities

Some say strength is determined by content of character, and has nothing to do with gender

Yet we hear women claiming greater abilities in this, going against all evidence, why is that?

This questioner is so right...in the 21st century jungle men's physical superiority must be curbed so that women can be given a chance to even the playing field.  When in your average office, men cover the ground to the photocopier so much quicker...all that sprinting during the hunt! And in the search for food, in the supermarket, men must not take down the prime wildebeest first with their stone axes, allow the women to pick off the little ones at the back of the checkout queue!  Biology curses women, too busy in stilletos to run after the mammoth..thank god, instead of couch potato, sedentary men, we live in a world of Grecian like hunter gatherers, there to protect us with their superior brain power and physique...oh! and there are also the ones who work in McDonalds and can take my order without scratching his butt!

It sounds like you're trying too hard to prove something to yourself. More men commit suicide, are in jail for violent crimes and represent a higher rate of mentally challenged individuals than women.

Women may have different advantages and disadvantages but are by no way inferior to men. Look at university enrolments and the number of successful women for your proof. Testosterone does not equal brain power, but it does help you have more fun at the gun and knife show.

You have no evidence to your point, and the fact that you need to come on line to put down women in general does not show favourably to your intellectual or emotional strengths.

Men are stronger physically, not necessarily emotionally or mentally. They are not born that way. Society discourages men from showing emotional vulnerability. It starts when they are little boys, they are taught to be "tough", "act like men", "don't be g*y" or "don't be a girl". Women are not necessarily stronger emotionally/mentally, either. I think that is a very individual thing.

Its totally different to giving birth which is what id like to see him or you doing sometime when you have spare time of course. I understand your schedule is busy.

By the sounds of things you were raised in a one parent home,you hated your mother for the things she did that you didnt approve of or your father was abusive to your mother therefore seeing her in a totally weak position. Whatever reason you have has nothing to do with us. If you have a problem take it up with her.

You know when you disrespect and degrade women your degrading the woman who gave birth to you. She didnt have to she could have aborted or given you up for adoption. Giving birth and raising you takes a whole of strength physically,mentally and emotionally

Most researchers shy away from the topic of intelligence between men and women because of the obvious controversies involved in making any claims on this subject, however the few credible studies that exist actually show that men and women are of equal intelligence.

One study done by someone called Fisher (I'm afraid I can't recall the first name at the moment) was about perceptions of intelligence, in which he tested how intelligent people *believe* they are and how intelligent they really are. In the study men on average rated themselves about 5% more intelligent than the tests showed they were while women tended to rate themselves slightly less intelligent than they really were.

Anyway, in this study , obviously to test perceptions of intelligence they needed to get a measure of their real intelligence and the results in this particular study showed on average that men and women were equally intelligent. However the lowest scores and the very highest were both scored by men.

There are reasons why you won't find a majority of women in top jobs, one of these is employer bias, a high percentage of employers (male and female) have admitted (anonymously of course) that they had purposely not hired females because they assumed they would want to leave at some point to start a family and didn't want to go through the bother of hiring someone new when this happened.

It is a rather sad fact for society that these biases exist because it is missing out on a potentially better qualified person and society would run much smoother if discriminations against gender, and indeed race, religion, age etc. did not exist.

Adrew, your question resonates with truth. However, I'm afraid most of the young women on GWS will not reciprocate. As someone who has worked in a female dominated field for almost 20 years, I can confidently confirm what you are saying. Most of the women on GWS do not listen with the intent to understand, but to immediately formulate a response to dispel anything you say.
