Question:

Why is the marijuana plant yellowing (chloriosis I believe)?

My friend, shall we say, has a young clone purple kush plant. This plant was provided miracle grow soil (which now is mixed with native soil and was washed as to try to remove excess nutrients), recieves abundant light, water.... Im thinking Ph or miracle grow is causing the yellowness all over? Will the plant make it further? The small leaves that have just recently come are bright green and fresh.

  1. If you consider that chlorosis, your soil maybe highly alkaline. Highly alkaline soil prevents nutrient from being readily available to your plant or maybe your soil has poor Iron content.

  2. why do you have such a plant in the first place?

  3. Chloriosis is insufficient chlorophyll so it won't be that especially as the new growth seems ok.

There are many things that could be affecting your plant. Nitrogen difficency  is the first thing that springs to mind.

What light are you using (wattage and type?) and how far away from the plant it is. What photoperiod 18-6 ?

I would firstly test the soil Ph, you can by soil test kits which are easy to use. Then I's consider buying an EC meter to test the levels of nutients in the soil.

Depending on the outcome depends what you do. I've never heard of miracle grow soil, it's possible that you've washed out the nutrients if your not actively feeding the plant, they need fairly regular feeding of an average NPK organic fertiliser.

I don't like chemical fertilisers as if you dont flush at least 2 weeks before harvest your bud will taste like chemicals which ruins the smoke.

I'm also not sure you should be using native soil. You don't know what's in it. In future I'd recomend good multi purpose compost.

Anyway I could go on and on.

Please feel free to em if you have any further questions.
