Senator Obama's past has been layed, relayed, and parlayed for 20 months by the media and opponents during the DNC primariy campaign.  At this point He and Senator Biden are known entities.  

McCain chose Palin at the last minute.  Being VP has been afterthought to Palin and almost nobody knows who she is.  Anything that we learn about her will be new at this point.  Anything good will be expected to good and anything bad will be what it is.

The chance that McCain took by choosing Palin is that America only has 8 weeks to learn about Palin, decide what is relevant or irrelevant and then vote.  If Palin and McCain can't explain the negatives in a clear and reasonable way, McCains choice will have backfired.

Palin is a reckless ultra right wing politician who will play any angle for her own benefit.  She did not oppose the "bridge to nowhere" until Congress vetoed it.  She hired a lobbying firm to get earmarks for her town when she was Mayor, now she is anti-earmark?  She plays little miss not in the back-pocket of established power but her Husband is a BP exec.  There are other opinions I have on her personal life but my choice for President rightly, honorably has put ban on attacking parent child relations.

I think the difference will be as follows:

1. One is a presidential candidate and the other is a VP.

2. I think Palin will be more open about her past and answer questions that are relative to the campaign where as obama as lied about his past. First he never heard the sermons, a couple of days later he did hear the sermons. First he says he doesn't condemn it and now he does. Whatever.

3. Palin has not published any books teaching any new theology or hatred against the United States or complains about how America holds her down because of the color of her skin which has brought a lot of criticism to obama but Palin, as a woman, has campaigned against men that were strong incumbents and against powerful companies in a state that is bigger than Texas and California and won only because she knows how to win and not to feel sorry for herself because of how she was born.

Obama reported his own past in two books.  His past has been scrutinized for years by conservative bloggers as well as the mainstream media.  There is nothing left to report, so you don't hear new things anymore.  Sarah Palin is new to this stage, so she is now going through her period of scrutiny.  I can't imagine why anyone would want to go through what any of these candidates endure.

You CAN'T be serious. For the last 6 months all we've heard about is Obamas past.... Just relax.. Every candidate goes through this. It's always particularly bad for a complete unknown like Palin. It was mad significantly worse by the fact that she was not properly vetted by the GOP.
