Why is the media so interested in dissecting the life of Michael phelps?

...isn't an eight time gold medal winner enough achievement to make the focus stay on that and not his father or anything other than what he accomplished?

  1. You mean the American media my friend. The rest of the world couldn't care less about Michael Phelps the person outside of the pool, although we do admire his sportsmanship. If you're into knowing about stuff that matters I say switch to international news networks because anything that's on the American media is full of c**p.


  2. Unfortunately, the media will do anything to get a story. It's all about ratings. If a story's interesting people will read it no matter what!

    I'm glad the father has at least said that it's Michael Phelps moment, and the media shouldn't take it away from him.
