I used to be able to view the "my yahoo" page fine on my computer until I did a system restart and now it's the only page that appears as all over the place. As it's my home page, it's VERY annoying. I know it's my pooter as the page displays fine on other pooters. I may be missing add ons,if so,which ones? HEEELLLLPPP! I have flash player, do I need others?

  1. I had the same problem and cured it this way.

    Assuming you are in UK and on BT/Yahoo?

    Whilst on your home page, open 'Tools' from your tool bar, choose 'Internet Options'  then in the 'Home Page' panel at the top of the box you can set your home page.

    Type in this line;

    http://home.bt.yahoo.com/p/1.html

    And click on 'apply' then 'OK'

    This will take you to your own personalised home page every time you use your 'Home' (the little house) icon.

    If you click on the blue hypertext in this answer, it will show you the result without making any changes.  If it works for you, then you can follow the instructions above.

    With two computers to hand, try this;

    Open 'Tools' on the "good" computer and select internet options.  Look at the text in the 'Home Page' panel, and copy it down on a piece of paper.  Be sure to copy it exactly letter by letter, character by character.  Now close the 'Tools'.

    Next, do the same on your other "pooter" - the one that's got the problem, and look at the text in the panel on there.  Check to see if it is the same as the "good" pooter!  I suspect it will be different - Yes?  If so, type in the line of text that you copied from the "good" pooter, click on 'Apply' then 'OK'.

    That should make both pooters the same as each other (synchronised), and therefore perform the same as each other.

    I suspect you'll find the difference is in the "  .com/p/1.html   " part at the end of the line of text.  It would probably read something like; http://home.sky.yahoo.com/p/1.html
