Now they are declaring "State of Emergency" and all this other mumbo jumbo.

Why does the news insist on making news out of everything?

Is Geraldo Rivera on site, hiding in a fire-proof tent lisping and stuttering the news to us through his nasty ash-covered mustache?

How can we make the news stop destroying sanity and peace?

  1. because the news is OCD

  2. because over the past 20 years they have been building homes in fire prone areas, Now the houses are burning. Stupidity to build there

  3. Of course it happens every year, but this year it is caused by global warming so it is big news.  I'm not sure how we know that the cause is different this year, but I saw a news story and we are absolutely certain that global warming is the culprit.

That is why the news covers this story.

  4. Because there are so many at the same time.  And I've been coughing for a week because the air is so bad.  It's serious.

  5. If you want sanity and peace, the "news" is rarely going to help you find, maintain or achieve it......... that said, any time lives, homes and/or large tracts of land are threatened or consumed by fire, flood, earthquake, war or other calamity, this is "News" even it if occurs fairly regularly.  Also, California is getting more and more fires and they tend to be larger than they used to be - the climate there is getting hotter and drier on the average, so fires are becoming much more frequent and often larger and more difficult to put out.  Finally, more people are building houses in the middle of the woods - sounds nice to be isolated like that, but it means that more homes are being threatened and burned by fires which would have just burned in the "back woods" before, with little news play.  It may seem like a broken record after several years now with lots of fires in that state, but there really are some nasty things going on there, and that's always news.

  6. because it is very destructive. a lot of homes and other things are being destroyed. true, it's not like it's a rare heppening, but it's still important. people like to know about these things so they can buy a plane ticket for their uncle joe so he can come and stay until the fire burns out.

  7. think if you were living there and you see a fire burning 20 feet from your house? now do u see why?

  8. well remember the fires that were one right after another, and all started with a kid? well thats why. its probably because its super dry in those areas and everyone is sorta worried about the enviroment. idk, i hope i helped.

  9. Slow news day. CA has four seasons; earthquake season, fire season, smog season and flood season. Never changes and is not newsworthy.

  10. yeah it is hot weather

  11. Yes, the fires do happen every year, but at this point, there are over 1,200 fires burning in two states.  Plus, it's probably also a bit of a slow news week or something.  My suggestion is to turn the channel.  I prefer cartoons, myself.

  12. Fires in California make the news because of the celebrities that live there. And they love to give interviews about what's happening.

The only way you can stop the news is to switch off the TV,

don't read the newspapers but get your info from the net.
