Once again the Dow is down for the day and the Liberal news Media is all over it. Last week the dow was up nearly 600 points and you didn't hear a peep out of the news media.

  1. Because the "bad stuff" attracts a crowd and the "news outlets" can then cut to a commercial and sell stuff to that captive audience. We have commercial news outlets, with the emphasis on "commercial". For many years all of the broadcast networks have viewed their news divisions as profit centers, rather than loss leaders for their other fare. No more. Those news divisions have to make a profit.

  2. People like to see that their life isn't the worst one out there...so in a way seeing all bad news on tv makes them feel a little better about the life they have.

All good news would make some people jealous or worse, suicidal.

(just think if the guy that just had his house burned down and lost everything he owned watched the news and it was all about smart kids in school, great honors people were given, and how rich people spent their millions on great things...that would suck for them)

  3. The news is always so depressing but it seems to be what the general public want to hear.  It would be great to hear some good news to lift our spirits at the moment when  everything is so gloomy.

  4. They have only been catering to what people want to watch. Nobody listens to or reads good news. They want to see a dead body or a riot.

If we stopped watching, they'd change...but everyone just has to see what Britney or Paris is up to today.
