Why is the number of insects laying eggs in salty waters less than ones laying eggs in fresh waters?

  1. Because insect larva can't live in salt water. there is no algea and tadpoles and other animals/ plants they feed on there. Example: mosquito larva. They need to eat once they hatch and they certainly cant eat saltwater creatures or plankton. Thats just not how they were created. They need little minnows and algea and tadpoles and things like that. Its a different environment. Its the same reason they cant lay eggs in pools.... its a different envvironment that doesnt have what they need to survive.
