Why is the picture quality so poor when viewing video footage through tv?

I have recently purchased a Panasonic SDR-S10 (SDHC). The quality when playing back on camera and when put onto computer are both good. However, when playing back through the television (hd ready) straight from the camera and when burnt to a dvd and played back through dvd player, the picture quality is poor (blurred). Do I have to put up with this or is there anything I can do to improve the picture? Thanks for taking time to read and hopefully answer!

Recheck your connections. If your still having a problem see if you can connect the camcorder to another TV to see if the problem persists. If it does then see if you can play back the tape on another camcorder. Just to narrow down what it can be. Also check to see if your DVD burning software supports HD. Good luck!!
