so can u tell why the potential energy is greater than in a liquid and also what is internal enrgy

please a simple explanation

  1. Internal energy is the sum of the total kinetic and potential energy of the particles.

    In a gas all the particles are spread out more and the attractive forces have been overcome and therefore they have higher potential energy.
