  1. it is not the highest valued currency that belongs to the Swiss franc the reason it was the highest valued currency the stock exchange was in London the centre of the finacinal world and its largest trading item was slaves sold by the ship full to the largest plantation houses of the Americas


  2. You are looking at the Pound Sterling in the wrong light..  You need to adjust your thinking to "How much can you get for £1 British Pound".  Its all amounts to a currency's purchasing power...
