  1. Starch is an end product of photosynthesis produced during the light-independent reactions (so it must be present of photosynthesis took place)

    Starch is easily detected: Lugol's Iodine Reagent, which is dark amber colored, turns blue black in the presence of starch (making starch a good indicator as it is easy to test for)
