I heard that when an adult keeps an unusual amount of tootsie rolls around, it is usually a sign of drug use. Is this true? and if so, what does one have to do with the other?

  1. No, it's not, but drug users, especially weed smokers, sometimes get very hungry or the "munchies" afterward.

  2. Well, that's a bit of a stretch! Suppose the adult is a grandparent whose grandchildren frequently visit, or a day care provider? Or someone who likes candy? Or just someone who shops at a warehouse store like Costco?

I can sorta see a possible connection between use of methamphetamine and suckers: meth users are often dehydrated and l*****g their lips, so the sucker could give them something else oral to focus on. Same with ravers: sometimes sucking on candy pacifiers due to the drugs taken.

However, as a rule, rules are meant to be broken. This one seems a  bit too far of a stretch to even make it a rule.

  3. My Dad had a bowl of tootsie rolls and he wasn't and isn't a drug user.
