  1. If he was made King he would take the place as the ruler and she would lose the power of the throne.

  2. There can only be ONE king or ONE queen at a time.

The king or queen has the full power of that title.  Therefore, the king or queen at the time has the full all powerfull rule of the kingdom.  No sharing.

    Off with their heads!!!!!

  3. a ship with two captains sinks

  4. Well, he is a king when it comes to being a complete a**h**e, based on the results from my researches.  A narcissist sociopath, at best, he is dictatorial, cold, and utterly lacking in compassion.  Just what you'd expect in a reptile, eh?  :))

  5. She chose not to bestow the king title upon him because he doesn't have the bloodline.

  6. That is a very good question! Sorry i could not answer but i like what others had to say about it!

  7. Your question has been answered but I just wanted to correct Kathy T who said that there can only be one king and queen at a time. This is not true as evidenced by the reign of William III and Mary II who were married and reigned jointly from 1689 to 1702. They were first cousins and both were grandchildren of Charles I.

She said her source was history. She obviously hasn't checked many encyclopedias.

  8. As others have said, a ruling queen, Queen Regnant cannot have a partner with the name of King. The technical name is a Prince Consort, though a non ruling queen is a Queen Consort.

  9. The Queen was heir to her father,King George VI and Philip was not. Philip is a spouse of a reigning queen and no one else can wear a title higher than the monarch. The title king implies a monarch;there is no title of "King Consort" for husband to the reigning queen because of this.So Prince Philip, who is of Royal birth,(he's from Danish-Greek-German royal stock, the house of Schlesweig-Holstein-

    Sonderburgh-Glucksburg which

is known now as Mountbatten), is called Prince Consort,an impressive title, but not considered a higher title than "Queen."

  10. The married partner of a British Monarch is called whatever the couple would both like, and Parliament will agree to. There are no other rules at all, so the various so-called reasons given by other answerers have just been made up.

There would never be any bother about calling the King's wife a Queen, although Charles and Camilla have wisely decided that they won't even ask Parliament for that.

Mary II refused to be Queen Regnant unless Parliament agreed to her husband being King William, so they agreed.

Neither Queen Anne nor her husband wanted any special title for him.

Queen Victoria wanted Albert to be called the Prince Consort, and Parliament eventually agreed. It is thought to be unlikely that any future Queen Regnant would want to re-use that title.

Five years after becoming Queen, Elizabeth asked for Parliament to agree to Philip being called Prince Philip, and they did.

So Philip is not a King either because (1) he didn't want to be, and/or (2) Elizabeth didn't want him to be, or (3) they both knew that Parliament wouldn't agree to it. Take your pick!

  11. Prince Phillip is of royal blood. He is from the former royal family of Greece.

The wife of a king is called queen even though she will never rule. When George VI died, his wife did not become monarch, his daughter Elizabeth did. The British felt, a long time ago, that the spouse of a ruling queen should not have the title "king" because that would seem to give him a ruling status he did not have. It's actually sexist. You could give a woman the title of queen, but you didn't have to worry about it. After all, she's just a woman and couldn't rule without a man anyway. (That was their attitude, not mine.) They never considered Elizabeth I or Victoria, two of Britain's most powerful monarchs.

  12. Kings in the UK (and previously England, though not Scotland; see below) are married to Queen consorts (with one exception) and are always ruling in their own right. Queens regnant are married to princes (unless their Husband is King of another country).

Mary I was married to Philip II of Spain, Elizabeth I was never married, Mary II was married to William III (the only true joint monarchy in the UK), Queen Annewas married to Prince George of Denmark and Norway, Queen Victorai was married to Prince Albert (who was the only husband of a Queen to be created Prince Consort) and Queen Elizabeth II is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

In Scotland, however, Lord Darnley, the 2nd husband of Mary, Queen of the Scots was known as "King Consort".

  13. According to the traditions of British Monarchy the power to rule pass on to the next in the hereditary line of the family and Queen's consort cannot have the power to rule the Country. Interestingly Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip is The oldest living great, great grand child of Queen Victoria and is 470th in the line of succession to the British throne in his own right through his great grand mother Princess Alice.
