  1. the reason for this is people can make environments for animals but for plants it is all about the soil the humidity and hundreds of small factors so thats why it would be so hard to move a tree or something

    take for example plants that grow in cold areas they survive with ice and if you move it to some where like California the humidity might dry it out

  2. I have yet to see a tree pick up its roots and run from the investigators!  Scientists do "mark" specimens they wish to study over a long period of time.  Or they mark plots that are periodically used to collect data for the problem they are investigating.

    One researcher studying alpine tundra had his summer's work wiped out by a herd of domestic sheep grazing through his research plots!

  3. In fact, the recapture method is irrelevant for all sedentary organisms, including a number of animal species -- for example: barnacles. Marking is important for all types, recaptures only for mobile organisms.
