Why is the screen on my tv flashing from colour to black and white when the xbox 360 is on??

We brought the xbox 360 down stairs to have a game of guitar hero's....and the picture is flicking from colour to black and white it didn't do this on the tv upstairs...have checked and double checked that everything is connected properly.Its driving me mad any ideas guys???? The tv upstairs is older then the one downstairs and everythin else works on it fine including the wii machine

I have this same problem occasionally.

Fiddling with the scart usually sorts it, Sometimes not having it pushed all the way in helps, or take the weight of the cable off it, ie, stick a matchbox under the scart to prop it up.

it could be because 360 still set to 60HRTZ and tv your running it on is only 50HRTZ.

are you running it through a VCR or DVD player first? Some of them have a copy wright protection built in that does just what you described. Try running the wire from the xbox directly into your TV and see if it makes a difference.
