  1. Sea grass provides a nursery for all kinds of sea life.  All kinds of marine creatures live in the grass.  It provides foods, places to hide, traps nutrients in the tidal flow.  As a result of all the sea life, birds, raccoons, and other terrestrial animals get food from the sea grass.  Defecation by the terrestrial animals leaves nutrients for land plants which provide habitats for animals, etc.

    Any good biology or ecology book should have this information.
