  1. Because the judicial system (at the time of RvW) did not want to get into the debate of when a fetus becomes a human life. In the words of Justice Harry Blackmun (who authored the majority decision): "We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, at this point in the development of man's knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer."

In other words, if the "experts" can't even come together and agree when life begins, why should the courts?

  2. Are you financially and emotionally willing to support all the unwanted negleted children in America?

  3. If you don't approve of abortions, don't have one.

Otherwise we are living in a theocracy and I disagree with what I percieve to be your assumption that those who may think like you and wish to impose their views on all Americans, have the right to do so.

And it IS the right to choose.  Thankfully, as much as you assail it, you are in the minority.

I know where this is leading.  Its too bad one can not mind one's own business and not strive to fan the flames of a right wing jihad led by conservative "Christians".

  4. "when the one who has the most to lose(the BABY, not the lump of cells or the mistake or the choice) doesn't get to?"

First and foremost, a fetus is not even developed enough to even make its own decisions regarding its own future.  (During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, which most abortions occur, it does not even have a fully developed brain so it is not even scientifically possible for an "unborn child" to even have a choice in the matter; few doctors are willing to perform abortions beyond 20 weeks unless medically necessary.)

    "Premarital/extramarital s*x is not a right"

B.S.  Humans have the implied right to procreation.  Lingering (though unenforcable) statutes against adultery or "fornication" do not even pass Consitutional muster.  What sheer idiocy!

  5. Thankfully, you're a minority in that way of thinking.  The freedom-hating anti-abortionists need to move to a theocratic police state where they can be happy and leave the rational people alone.

Citizens, who have rights, are born not fertilized.

  6. Because it is the right of the woman to choose whether or not to have an abortion, it is her choice and hers alone.  Pro choice, pro women's rights.

  7. Because to some here, abortion is the holy grail!

To oppose it is to be a ultra right wing religious Christian freaks that only seek to control what a person does with her body.

I am not too sure how they classify the agnostics, or atheists that oppose abortion, but that is a comment for another day.

Parental notification for 12 year olds that have an abortion? NEVER!!

Partial birth abortion?  YES!  ON DEMAND DAMMET!!

  8. A baby is born, and nothing in the womb resembles a baby at 3 months gestation.  Therefore, women have the right to Choose whether to carry a pregnancy to full term, or not.

Now, I can''t figure out how folks can call themselves, Pro-Lifers, when it is clearly evident that they are "Pro-Controllers", upon what women can do regarding medical decisions.
