Why is the sound muffled when TV replays a snooker shot?

Yesterday I saw a snooker match on TV. Usually the sound is crisp no matter when the cue hits the white ball or the white ball hits the target ball. But when the shot is replayed, the sound is muffled...... I wonder why?

  1. i've only noticed what your talking about, if they do the replay in slow motion, which makes the sound of the shot in slow motion, a muffled type of sound. on the pc game cueclub, if you replay the shot in slomo, it has the exact sound, as the tv does, in slomo replays.

  2. never noticed
