  1. The keyboard you are talking about is the basic american QWERTY keyboard. There are many varieties you can purchace like: http://ergo.human.cornell.edu/AHTutorial... ,scroll down and read the types of keyboards. And to answer your question, NO, it would not because AMERICA is used to this keyboard and it is a skill to be a touch typist.

    Even Xerox IT folk told me to slow down.

  3. The letters are arranged the same as back in the days of manual typewriters, that had the hammers come up and hit the paper with a ribbon of ink in between,

    The letters are spaced out like they are so fast typists has less chance of getting the hammers to hit each other as they went up and down, and making a big jumble of them, which would then have to be unmixed by hand, slowing typing down altogether.
