  1. It is important to for any religion to look at it's formation and it's history... To understand their own religion. Just the same way people look at the past! Also it helps the churches bring in more people if they exaggerate the past...

  2. Ha Ha the study of the past is not important to Christians. They believe Dinosaurs are made up by Scientists, and that the Earth is 10,000 years old.

  3. For the same reason it is important to everyone else ... if we don't learn from our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them

(sorry if I'm quoting someone, can't remember where I heard that lol)

  4. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  5. because they can learn all about rome, the crusades, and spain and all the nice things they did there

  6. It's called....

    T R A D I T I O N.

It's knowing that the tradition of my father's father will be carried down to the next generation and that we will all be included in the communion of saints.

It means the dead do have a say in how we live our lives.

It means the Credo that is 2,000 years old.

    It means supercalifragelisticexpialidocious.

    God love you!

  7. Are you speaking in regards to the Bible and that history.  I don't look that much to the past, the future is way too exciting to me.  I like to read the Bible, because it helps me to attain what I need to enjoy my future to come.

  8. It's not!! Because if it was they would see things in a way they have never seen before, and then they probably would not consider themselves Christians. They would know the truth to many questions and then be believers

  9. Is it?

  10. Its not.

They believe the bible is a true account of the past. But ask any historian and they will tell you that it is purely fiction.

If the study of the past was truly an honest endeavor for Christians then they would not be Christians for very long

  11. Heck, the study of the past (history) should be important to everyone.  I enjoy reading about how people used to live and how civilization has changed and evolved over time.

  12. Because history is our greatest teacher.

  13. Because Jesus was a role model for us. You see he is perfect and us christians look back in the past and at Jesus so we can be more like him. God Bless You Brother or Sister!
