Why is the subtitle for the first x files movie Fight the Future?

And to answer your question it's because they are trying to stop the secret orgs. from infecting the earth with the virus the bees were carrying. They were trying to fight that future.

That's my theory anyway.

It isn't. Its "I Want to Believe".

There's a quote mentioned in the movie:  "One man alone cannot fight the future."  The subtitle refers to the fact that Mulder is going to keep on fighting the alien conspiracy, no matter how futile an endeavor it seems to be or how little help he has.

EDIT - Storm:  "I Want to Believe" is the subtitle for the **second** X-Files movie.  "Fight the Future" came out in 1998.
