  1. Magic dust

  2. WELL

    IF ITS NOT RED,

    THEN DO YOU THINK

    IT SHOULD BE BLUE INSTEAD?

    HOW OLD ARE YOU???????????

  3. As the sun sets the beams of light must pass through more of the Earth's atmosphere. This causes a large portion of the blue light to be scattered away, while the red wavelengths do not scatter as much.

  4. The sun appears red or orange at sunrise and sunset because of the dust particles in the air and the angle which the sun is striking Earth at the given time. This causes the reds and oranges (who are of longer wavelength) spread out and "appear" red.

  5. The atmosphere tends to absorb higher wavelengths.

The more atmosphere the light has to go through, the less higher

wavelengths get through, so you are left with lower wave lenghts

    (red).

When the sun is coming to you at its lowest angle (sunrise, sunset)

its light is going through the most atmosphere.

Note that the effect is much less pronounced on high mountains because

it is going through less atmosphere.

  6. sunset maybe i love sun sets

  7. boliboy is right most part of the blue light is scattered away

DUHH, can I ask YOU how old you are?

  8. The sun becomes a darker shade of orange to a reddish color as it gets closer to the horizon...because it is seen through more of our atmosphere...just as the moon is viewed the same way. As the moon gets closer to the horizon...it too looks more orange or reddish shade because we see it through more of our atmosphere.

Therefore...in both cases...the blue light is obscured by our atmosphere..and more of the red spectrum is revealed.

  9. when the sunsets are red means its going to be a hot day tomorrow, that is what I always heard..
