  1. cuz it allows you to communicate easier with other people, no matter how far they are

  2. Well.....in MY opinion

It's faster than post office (snail mail), more personal than an email or instant messange.

These numbers are important to all kinds of people:

    911, 411, *67, *69, 1-900, 1-800, 1-866, 1-877, 0 (operator)

    -=J=-

  3. do i ask you why your best friend is important? haha just kiddin

  4. Instant communication made a *huge* impact on the speed at which things happen in our society.

In not all that long a time, we went from having no long-distance communication other than writing a letter and having it physically delivered, to having telegrams (which still required that a person go to the telegraph office to send it, then a person had to deliver it from the telegraph office to the recipient), to being able to pick up the phone in your own home or business and speak to people in another state or even country in their home or business.

It certainly speeds up business negotiations.  It also means that people can keep in touch while traveling.  If someone is hurt or injured, you find out much sooner . . . .   These days, with phone service so cheap, we can pick up the phone and call grandma about every little detail that may not ever have been mentioned in a letter. . . .

  5. the telephone is good when you need to call the police or fire depart. and to call family or friends that don't have a PC. to use
