  1. its not..its outdated and needs to go away...

  2. It isn't.  It is a waste of taxpayer dollars.  We should pull out of it, expel all the diplomats, tear that building down  and tell them to set up shop in Europe.

  3. The foundation of the United Nations is required to maintain a good grounding for all countries that belong to the union of the United Nations.   It oversees that no country has the ability to overtake...at least that was what it was set up for...also it works with the international court system that governs the interconnection of countries to make sure that there is not any outburst between countries....

  4. It's not!

  5. Some argue it is a waste of time. It is supposed to be a place for all nations to meet and vote on issues. Could be a good starting place for disaster. Only time will tell

  6. yes good question, but the representatives are from the government of countries, so it come to the same as a one country with so many political parties..

  7. This is like an open invitation for ignorant diatribe. Good luck.

  8. I,m not telling Bush the answer.  From his appointments for head of the State Dept, Bush has no idea what it is.

  9. UN is important because it maintains peace and order among the member states.  It is short of a world government but provides the international community with many services on education, health and environment.

  10. The UN has become a very ineffective organization that mostly collects money from member nations that is wasted or embezzzled. Because of the veto setup nothing can be agreed on by the security council or the UN as a whole.

  11. It is essential in discussing global and regional issues that can prevent conflicts from happening.

It can network global activities for a slew of nations and get a lot of good done in places where it is really needed.

There is little hope without the UN.

  12. You didn't hear me.  I said it was Impotant!

  13. It is an effort to get all countries to talk and work together for global effect. It doesn't work well, but neither do most governing bodies, do they? It's an effort, which is better than not at all.

  14. Because it's eventually going to be the world gov't controlled by the IMF & World Bank.  This is the body you will pay taxes to.  Don't expect a vote.  It's all planned out.

  15. This is were representatives of every country deal with each other's problems, the main purpose is to prevent future "global wars".

  16. Couldn't tell ya.

Lets see.  They voted for and wnt into Vietnam>  US headed the NATO force.

They voted for and supported the korean war, but ONLY if the North was left alone.

They voted for and supported the first Gulf war, but ONLY to ofrce Saddam out of Kuwait, NOT to force him from pwoer.  (Thus we get the secodn gulf war...)

They knew about the massacre in Ruwanda, to some degree before the violence got started and refused to act to stop it.

They sit in thier bases in Kosovo, refusing to protect Christians even when the crhistian families come to their gates begging to be allowed in to spare their lives.  Instead the UN keep their gates closed and watch the families being stoned to death.  (True story documented on film no less...)

They put some of the worst dictators inthe world on the human rights commissions.

They refuse to act to support their lofted Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Hmmmm......  come to think about it I am not sure what they do other than give a political platform to the enemies of civilization and spend a great deal of money for little if any measureable gain.

they used to fight global diseases fairly well, but they are even starting to fall behind there as well now...

  17. To the babbling idiots above me: the UN is not just a guideline organization.

UNICEF is one of the largest charities in the world, and there is no denying that they are doing amazing work.

Do some research before you come and complain

  18. It was,  but has  failed in its effectiveness. Peace
