my opinion is that people have to spend so much money on food and gas that they cant afford other things that would boost the economy such as houses or cars. the housing market is going down therefor less money is going onto the economy.the recent stimulas check didnt help very much because so many people spent it on the neccessities, and didnt go out and buy that new T.V. they wanted. instead they were busy just getting by.

Of course it's the war.  You can't export half a trillion dollars and expect everything in the economy to be unaffected.
