Why is the upper lip burning????

Question

I just had lunch and I drank some soup at the last.....It was hoooott,a bit too much of chillies i suppose....but the skin around my lips is burning now...above my upper lip is the most.....why is it so???

Chilis will do that to 'ya.

I get like that if I accidently get salsa on my upper lip. [haha, don't ask]
