  1. THE WAR

This war is the first where the government hasn't relied on taxes for the majority of it's income.

So, where is the US getting all of the money to pay for the war?

Well, since the war started the US has been borrowing.

Yes borrowing, anywhere from 600 Billion - a Trillion dollars from many different countries, making the US dollar decline in value.

  2. b/c of bush

  3. There is no real way to answer the question. There are hundreds of reasons why the dollar is weak. In my opinion, the leading problem is the deficit and the amount of money we have to borrow to keep the country running. That is followed by the low interest rates that the federal reserve is pushing on us to keep the markets strong.

The dollar is going to be weak for a while. We have to fix the deficit, which is something politicians love to say they will do but hate to take one step towards actually doing it. I'd guess we'll have to go through a serious depression before anything gets better.
