  1. Smaller population=less polution

  2. because we done throw our trash into the ocean ...WE USE A G-A-R-B-A-G-E C-A-N....and plus of the sand bars and other stuff...thats why..i hate america

  3. Pure water is actually blue, but darkens with depth and other natural and unnatural particles.

The waters around the bahamas islands are generally shallow and have white sandy bottoms.  Thus making the water appear in a pure form.  (You can see the darker areas where the water is deeper).

Some waters near florida are clear and blue at the shallow points, but most have become darkened with waste and other particles, including algae and silt.

Additionally, the trade winds and current that flows thru and around the bahama islands keeps the water relatively clean and clear.

  4. Hippy has the right answer - there's less c**p (literal and figurative) being dumped into the waters around there.

  5. Sydney is right.

Hey Sydney please support the grandbahamacommittee in fighing bahama rock because if they have their way all our water will be poluted and our fish nurseries will be destroyed.  We have the 2nd largest in the nation.
