  1. The water is blue and clear because there are no large factories and  other manufacturers to dispose  garbage into  the  sea, lakes, and ponds. The Bahamas Defence Force also perform a good job of guarding the Islands and cays against intruders who might be looking for a place to dump garbage.

  2. because its clean.

  3. It has to do with the way the sun reflects off the bottom of the ocean. The sand is very fine in the Bahamas therefore creating a reflection ,also the water is clean. I was in the Bahamas about 3 weeks ago and it was the 2nd cleanest Ive seen. Mexico has the clearest turquoise water Ive ever seen.

  4. there is little or no algee to clud it up , plus it has to do with the way the sun reflects off the bottom of the ocean. The sand is very fine in the Bahamas therefore creating a reflection ,also the water is clean. Very beautiful place

  5. It is also blue and clear because it is only a few feet deep. The light, clear water around most of the island is called flats, and is very shallow. The further you get away from the flats, the deeper blue the water becomes, and while still clear, is no longer see through, just a deep blue.

  6. Isn't it beautiful?  It is very very clean and when you go to Cancun or Cozumel it is breath taking the color is amazing each time I go I must sound like a broken record cause I just keep repeating "look at that water!"   They say the visibility is like 150ft which means you can see the bottom clearly.  Isn't it amazing.  It is a shame what we have done to our waters.
