Why is the weather being so crappy in the vancouver BC/seattle WA region?

where is the summer??? its all raining here and its already june! and its cold. and i want hot summer weather!! is there anywhere i can go to find out why we are having cold rainy weather? or do any of you know?

I agree, this never ending "winter" in Seattle is a huge bummer. I remember one like this about 10 years ago. My tomato plants rotted in the garden. I don't think it got warm that year until August!

The weather condition is called "La Niña" - It's basically the opposite of El Niño - In a La Nina year, the polar jet stream and the Pacific jet stream converge on the northwest bringing cold and wet weather. In a El Nino year, The jet stream goes south of us & we get warm and dry weather.
