  1. People like s*x, so people get born, but sanitation and healthcare are improving daily for millions of people, so people don't die like they used to in the past.

  2. because people STEADY having kids......!

  3. The more ppl there are on earth means the more ppl procreate.  Then the fact of ppl having longer life spans due to medicine and ppl being more conscious of their health.

2 with the exponent of 2 makes 4.

1,000,000 with the exponent of 2 makes a much greater number.

That's what's happening with the population, supposing couples are having 2 children each.

  4. It is not so much that people are living longer but it is because infant mortality rate has dropped exponetially which makes for more adults and therefore more women having children and the cycle repeats itself growing the population

  5. It is because the average couple has more than two children.  For much of human history, the population growth was about zero, because the number of annual deaths approximately equalled the number of deaths(meaning for every person born, someone died).  Now, because the average couple has around 3 children, those children will grow up and have approximately 3 children, and this cycle continues.  Because the annual number of deaths is less that the number of births, there is an increasingly large population growth.

However, it is impossible for population to continue to grow exponentially forever.  As Thomas Malthus showed in 1798, the resources (food, water, shelter, etc)for human survival grows at a linear rate, and population grows exponentially, there will come a time when population exceeds supplies.  For the most part, continuous technological advancement has enabled most people to have the resources necessary for survival, but if technology does not continue to advance at the same rate as the population, there will come a time when many people do not have the supplies necessary for life.

  6. because of medicine, darn that, worst thing to come about, it saves lives, making more births than deaths

  7. The world's population is increasing exponentially because the rate of births is greater than the rate of death....its kind of a hard to put it into words..

  8. cause of all of the S****y teenagers who have babies because they are stupid and have low self-esteem

  9. actually it is slowing down.  It is leveling off deaths to births.

Okay, well this is called the bacterial growth curve, and well, it looks like this.  http://web.deu.edu.tr/atiksu/toprak/curv...

I herd on a show that by the time we reach 12 billion it will start to level off deaths per births.

  10. i think that the reason is that in nature other organisms eat other organisms. thats the way of life. but humans are different they have NO natural predators therefore the death rate is much lower than the birth rate in the world.

  11. does it??

  12. Exponential growth means the rate of growth is directly proportional to the state of growth.  So people don't reproduce in an arithmetic fashion, where 2 people have 2 or 3 kids that replace them and population stays roughly the same.  People have 2 or 3 kids and now constitute a family of 4 or 5 people, later maybe each kid has 2 kids and there's 8 or 9 in the family.  Population has to go up for this to happen.  People don't die right after they reproduce.

  13. I have no idea what "exponentially" means, but I feel the population is increasing, because people are living longer!
