Question:

Why is the world wide web not really the world wide web?

Being a motorsport fan, motogp and superbikes mostly I am always chasing news and any broadcasts of races that I can get. The superbike website www.worldsbk.com doesn's cater for us poor fans in Australia even though we have multiple riders competing in the event. The motogp site www.motogp.com is a fine website if you have the time and patience to navigate it as well as the many to subscribe. Other websites that I have looked at for broadcasts mostly european sports channels such as BBC sport or Eurosport also seem only to cater for their european audiences. So my question remains is the worl wide web truely the world wide web or is it the continental web or maybe even in the case of some countries, poor isolated buggers with government control even less than what we get here.

  1. Motogp webby is the same the world over. My mate is Melbourne sent me a screen shot and its just the same as mine. As is the same service in Durben, South Africa.

Yes you have to pay for the motogp.com website, but if it was free it would be rubbish.

P.S they have a 60 % offer on at the moment. Not looked into it really, as I'm already signed and paid up.

  2. I Australia, the best way to watch the races is with foxtel or austar (yes I know that they are expensive, but as I live in the middle of Qld it's the only tv I can get) They show all the GP and Sbk races as well as motorcycle racing from everywhere.usually late at night through the week, but what the h**l...it's only sleep deprivation...I only visit the websites to see how they are going in practice and qualifying.

  3. Hi Vornoando,  I'm curious as to what you get on the WSBK site. I thought it was the same the world over.  Although in the UK I find it a very good site to watch superbikes on, I am currently watching the superpole session from Bruno.

Its tough to find anything on racing from Japan or America for that matter. The Eurosport site doesn't show much over here either, you have to watch Eurosport on TV for the GP races. Though when it goes to the BBC next yr they might put something on the iPlayer.

I guess to answer your question the web is probably not world wide ??
