  1. Wow and i thought the european educational system was better all along, d**n.

  2. The USA has only existed as a nation since 1787, so that's all the history there is on the country.

There is plenty of history to be read about the colonial period that preceded it or of the explorers and adventurers (Spanish and French mainly) that charted the contintent.

If you want to go back further study the Native American tribes.

  3. Usually there is review of the Native American tribes and the colonies that were established by the English, Dutch the French and Spanish. Other than that, its just American history. The United States isn't really that old.

  4. It's not even that long. How could it be when the USA is only 232 years old (starting at the Declaration of Independence)? 231 years old if you start counting from the Articles of Confederation signed in 1777, when the nation was first called the "United States of America". Before that it was a British Colony.

Do I detect anti-American undertones in your question?

  5. The United States of America officially began with the Declaration of Independence, but it wasn't called that until the Constitution was written in 1787.  Prior to the Declaration of Independence, you have the colonial area which stretches from the founding of the Roanoke Colony to the Declaration.   Prior to that, you have the Native American era for which few written records exist.

We could ask why the history of your nation is so short as well when you compare it with Greece or Egypt.

  6. American Indian historians entrusted their "Histories" verbally, hence, usually not typed on a laptop.

I, too, thought the Europeans had a better public, oops, "Private", who the h**l knows, educational system.

You're just trying to p**s us off and have disrespected just about everybody-particularly American Indians.

    Happy now, jerk.

  7. because it's only been around for 232 years and the pilgrims probably didn't keep a record

  8. Don't worry about it, there is no history worth knowing before the USA anyway.

/How's that for an American Answer? ;-)
