I have an 03 VW w/ manual trans. When I put the car in 1st gear and let off the clutch while hitting the gas a strange click click click click comes from the front right wheel and then stops when i let off the gas. This happens when i hit the gas in 2nd gear too but isnt as noticeable when the speed increases. It isnt real loud either. Thanks

  1. Does it get loud or can you hear it when you turn left?  Could be you CV axle or bearing (bearing can sound almost like a helicopter taking off-a very quite helicopter-but bearings tend to increase in noise as you increase your speed.)

  2. Check for pebbles/stones in tire treads. If a small stone is wedged in treads and protrudes enough,it can make a clicking sound every revolution.

  3. An exhaust leak has similar symptoms also, but sounds more like suspension issues.
