Question:

Why is there a difference in the Six Flags ticket prices?

My kids got free passes for reading six hours. On the back of the passes, it states to go to the website and enter the gift code to receive a discount on up to 4 tickets.

Two tickets, for my husband and I, come to $89.98.

If I go to the regular Six Flags website and enter two tickets, it comes to $79.98.

That is a $10 difference in the price. The regular price is cheaper than the "discounted" price.

Why? Shouldn't the discounted price be less than the regular price?

Wait - it gets even weirder. They're holding a BBQ for the 4th of July weekend. $39.95 gets you admission to the park and to the BBQ. In other words, by clicking on that link to order your tickets, you're getting free admission to the BBQ. But if you go to the regular ticket page and click on "single day admission", they'll charge you $39.95 for admission only.

What is it with Six Flags and their crazy ticket sales?

  1. they bank on people not exploring all options. Anyone who pays the 54 dollars(great america six flags) to get in is crazy.

Six Flags is always offering something on their websites.

It could be the buy one adult get one free deal or the 39.99 online ticket.

You just have to pay attention to the special deals offered on the website and in some stores/coke cans and you can save $10-25 by being a smart consumer.
