  1. Plant cells also use chloroplasts to generate their food and hence their energy,

Animal cells use mitochondria to generate theirs.

  2. Mitochindria are the power-houses of cell...

As animals perform locomotion and plants do not, animals require more energy than plants!!!!!

  3. mitochondria r the powerhouse of the cell

they produce power through ATP(Adenosine Tri-phosphate) Synthesis

animals require more power so they have more mitochondria

they require greater power as they r mobile n need energy 4 locomotion

    plants r stationery

  4. Mitochondria supply the cell with energy. Animal cells, which are highly motile, require a higher concentration of mitochondria. Even in organs that are not responsible for movement, such as the kidneys, contain a very high concentration of mitochondria. Specifically, in the proximal and distal convoluted tubules, there is an very large concentration of mitochondria.

  5. because many millions of years ago mitochondria entered the cells of creatures and they allowed animals to evolve

  6. Mitochondria are the energy factories of the cells. The energy currency for the work that animals must do is the energy-rich molecule adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP is produced in the mitochondria using energy stored in food. Just as the chloroplasts in plants act as sugar factories for the supply of ordered molecules to the plant, the mitochondria in animals and plants act to produce the ordered ATP molecules as the energy supply for the processes of life.

A typical animal cell will have on the order of 1000 to 2000 mitochondria. So the cell will have a lot of structures that are capable of producing a high amount of available energy. This ATP production by the mitochondria is done by the process of respiration, which in essence is the use of oxygen in a process which generates energy. This is a very efficient process for using food energy to make ATP. One of the benefits of "aerobic exercise" is that it improves your body's ability to make ATP rapidly using the respiration process.

All living cells have mitochondria. Hair cells and outer skin cells are dead cells and no longer actively producing ATP, but all cells have the same structure. Some cells have more mitochondria than others. Your fat cells have many mitochondria because they store a lot of energy. Muscle cells have many mitochondria, which allows them to respond quickly to the need for doing work.

  7.   Mitochodria is the  autonomus cell organel, the main function of this is, supply enegy in the form of ATP, for the cellular needs, that's why it is called power hose of the cell.

In plants cell same type of Autonomus cell organel is present that is chloroplast, mainly involved in the preparetion of food and  in other metabolic activities.

In animal cell we found more number mitochodria why because this is the only cell organel involved in the energy preparetion and supply of energy.where as in plants cell along with the mitochodria chloroplasts are present( which helpful for energy preparetion and enrgy supply)  that's why we found less number of mitochodria in plants.

  8. because an animal is mobile and requires more respiration at every level

  9. IN ANIMALS THE NEED OF ENERGY IS MILLIONS TIMES MORE THAN PLANTS

AND SINCE MTOCHONDRIA IS THE ENERGY HOUSE OF THE CELL THE NUMBER OF IT IS MORE IN ANIMALS

  10. well since animals are mobile therefore they require more energy

  11. WE KNOW DAT MITOCHONDRIA IS THE PLACE WHERE THE CHEMICAL PROCESSES OF RESPIRATION TAKES PLACE. HOWEVER , THIS WORK IS ALSO DONE BY CHLOROPLAST IN PLANT CELLS. THUS, THE WORKLOAD IS SHARED. BUT IN ANIMAL CELLS, NO CELL ORGANELLAE EXCEPT MITOCHONDRIA CAN TAKE PART IN RESPIRATION. THUS,MITOCHONDRIA HAS TO DO ALL THE RESPIRATION BY ITSELF. THE WORKLOAD IS NOT SHARED. THEREFORE,THE NOS.OF MITOCHONDRIA MUST BE GREATER.

  12. THis is because all energy required (ATP) are synthesized by oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria whilst plants source it from both mitochondria as well as from chloroplasts. Hence animal cells have more mitochondria
