Why is there a lot of crime in many black neighborhoods?

I'm just curious to know.. alot of neighorhoods that have crime are populated by mostly black people. but black people involved in crimes are not only causing problems for the community but for themselves. Being Involved in crimes can include: hurting yourself, somebody you know getting hurt, you getting killed, someone you know getting killed, being put in jail, suffering, continued poverty, and people have children that get brought up to be involved in all this?....

why do they bring themselves down so much? I know they are struggling economically but they could really make a difference for themselves. school is free and i always hear about scholarships for college. they could really get good jobs, become powerful important people. i mean, look at a lot of the immigrants they're poor and struggling alot worse. i came across somebody once that got in trouble for stealing and stripping cars, and all i can think is "if you know how to take the car apart, why don't you become a mechanic?"

  1. Crime and poverty go hand in hand.  If by black neighborhoods you mean poor black neighborhoods then the question answers itself.  Neighborhoods that would be considered middle class or upper class have less crime no matter what race or nationality makes up the majority of the residents.

  2. Lack of education. Proverty.

  3. I don't think it's nessicarly black people, it's people in the ghetto...which, for whatever reason, mainly have blacks. Like Oakland. What a s***hole.

There are many wonderful black-majority neighborhoods, like out sister school

And if anyone says you're being racist, they are either black or very, very poorly educated.

And if I get any 'thumbs down', the people who think you're racist are most likely doing it.

    :D

  4. Well because of their culture and maybe they where born into poverty.

  5. The fact that they're black has nothing to do with the crime. It's economic standing that causes crime. Black people to this day are held down by the repercussions of slavery. White people were given a 250 year head start here in America while blacks were forced to work for no pay and once they were "liberated" they faced accepted racial discrimination. The reason black people commit more crime statistically than white people is because most white people aren't forced into poverty by the capitalist wage slave system.

On a side note, I'm disgusted at some of the answers here. No wonder the world hates us...

  6. There are criminals in all ethnic groups. All levels of income.

  7. Because black people act like demonic maniacs and find pleasure in chewing into white flesh and gargling blood! They find pleasure in getting involved in kidnappings and murders and rapes more likely than white men, and deserve to be locked up with no mercy from police authorities just because they can't help it that they were born black!

  8. Criminals are in all races. And they come from all backgrounds. Read your daily newspaper and you will see.

  9. This won't be a popular answer but for many it's low IQ, coupled with being born into poverty.  If you look into the worst neighborhoods of any city it's all the same regardless of black or white.  I would bet you find IQ's of 75.  In the best neighborhoods more like 130+, lawyers and doctors.

How can we help these people?  I don't know. But it's our obligation to try.

  10. ignorance, lack of education, drugs, improper upbringing, bad luck, laziness, no drive to do better, poverty, mental illness, lack of resources, and an unwillingness to ask for or get the help or assistance they need to ease the situations. They are selling drugs to their own communities, and killing themselves, and somehow, we(society) are at fault for their bad choices. I don't buy it, look how many under privileged kids from the ghetto made it out and became successful in the NFL, Baseball, NBA, BOXERS, Actors, Rappers and Producers. Most of which grew up dirt poor, on welfare in drug and crime controlled neighborhoods, and were arrested and drug dealers themselves ) Look how many have gone to college, became doctors and lawyers, teachers... it's all in an individuals own drive, and desire to be a success. If you never give up and fight your way out, you can get out. Those who give it little or no effort never get out. It's too easy to make that fast easy cash from drugs, no normal job can provide that type of income. Every person is capable of beating the odds, it's up to them to act on it. That goes for white people and immigrants too. The next time you see a black person driving a benz or a chrysler 300 with rims that cost more than you're house, and dress in designer clothes, think about it...do you automatically assume they are a drug dealer? Maybe, maybe not. Why does everyone always have to stereotype black people who drive expensive cars and dress well? They probably have their own business, are a lawyer, or doctor, or play sports. Your only a victim if you stay one. At some point you have to take control of your own destiny and stop whining about the white man and society sticking it to you. There are just as many poor and violent white people out there. It's easier to blame others than to blame yourself. Just coz you're born into it, doesn't mean you have to accept it and stay in it. Those who make excuses go no where in life and become bitter towards those who have the balls to follow and achieve their dreams.

  11. i think blacks are kinda violent, but i am not sure.
